BEAUTYFULL NEWS 02It’s mainly about colour for me this week, with a bit ‘o’ skincare thrown in.

Lips and cheeks and general highlighting are covered by a multiple, and NARS are well known for their contributions to this cosmetic enhancement. I have to say, I don’t know where I’d be without my Orgasm — but what gal would, in fairness? This is an iridescent tube of purple-y/silvery goodness and it’s all I can do to not draw all over my face with it. I find it wears away more quickly than I’d like, so be prepared to reapply often. This is a limited edition!

I reach for this more often than not — and I’ve got an Hourglass trio of Ambient Blush sitting right there. This is effectively a dupe for said Ambients, and has equal pigment and durability. I don’t know, I think because it is less spendy, I feel like I can use it on a daily basis? I have nothing bad to say about this at all, although it could use more impact in the highlight. Otherwise, this is produces a rich, expensive glow to the complexion.

Enriched with Argan Oil and Vitamin E, this is the perfect treble-purpose lip gloss. It applies (and reapplies) like a lip balm, shines like a gloss, and fades with aplomb. I found the lighter shades to be too light, but the ones that have got decent pigment — like Rebel Red (shown) and Twinkle Twinkle (not) — truly take you from desk to disco. There’s a good balance matte and sparkly choices, too.

I am currently motoring through a Payot moisturiser, which never happens — I never finish a moisturiser. I’ll be writing about that soon, but until such time, I got stuck in to this. I love a good serum, and this is pretty good. I’m finding it absorbs that bit too quickly — I don’t think my skin is suffering from unusual dryness, but it is ‘summer’ after all. I’m not giving up on it, just saying that it’s not been an immediate ‘love’.

Oh, Hello My Darling: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette

I add my name to the ever-expanding list of bloggers who have fallen under the spell of this little beauty. And I don’t even care about blush all that much.

Now, I will admit that when I saw the images on Teh Intertubes, I thought that the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette would be bigger, in terms of the compact-size itself {rather an oxymoron, I know} and that the pans were much larger. I wasn’t impressed when I opened it, and wasn’t sure that the brush I usually used to apply blush was even going to work. And if I had to use a smaller one? What is worse than stripey-looking blush? Not much.

Ah, but these are to be filed under Perfectly Formed, because as small as they are, the quality of the powder is such that it distributes evenly on the brush, and the pigment is so rich and has such depth that it goes on like a dream. And it stays on like a.. like something that stays on forever and ever until you take it off yourself.

From left we have Luminous Flush, Incandescent Electra and Mood Exposure: or rose, peach and plum. My favourite of all these faves? Unexpectedly, the plum: it is muted, but so flattering. The veins of goodness are the caches of Ambient Lighting Powder, which reflects light to the exact perfect degree that conveys youth and dewiness.

This is perfect and I love it. I am so in love that I keep it in its box when its sleeping. No fraternising with the rest of the cosmetics, who knows what it’ll get up to, and what the others, in their jealousy and spite, will do to it!

Oookay. I was thinking about how much I want the Ambient Lighting Trio, but that might just get me a date with the men in the white coats…

What I Put on My Face Yesterday

Just make up-wise; skin care is a whole ‘nother post.

>POREfessional by Benefit. It is the biz. I think it is made of feathers and velvet, it’s so soft.

>More MAC: a few swipes of Penultimate on the brows because the dye is dying, oh nooooo. The pen is dying as well! Ach!

>The Blush Horizon de Chanel, and more on that anon as well.

>That Karaja black eyeliner that I adore. It is harder to use now it’s getting shorter, just because my eye thinks I am trying to poke it out.

>I’ve been very pleased with the new technology that has made liquid eyeliner easier to apply. Ir maybe practice does make perfect. Anyway, I love L’Oréal’s Super Liner Luminizer for Blue Eyes. It lasted through my very long yesterday, and that applicator is top class.

>Benefit High Brow Glow, which I always look at and go, ‘Eh?’ and then I just stroke some in the arch of my brow and go ‘Oh!’ the pearlescent sparkle really does make a difference.

>Yesterday it was… yet another Benefit product! Mascara: They’re Real! The result is amazeballs, but one must get as much on in the first coat, because it dries hard, and it’s difficult to get another coat on. You know what I mean? It kind of sets in stone? Which is grand — if you get the first coat correct.

>The Clarins Gloss Prodige in Papaya. I think this has magic in it? because it feels light like a gloss but looks like a shiny, shiny lipstick. Me likey.

That took me longer to write than it did to actually do. Ten minutes, tops? Maybe fifteen? That’s just regular-day-face, as shown. I’m going to be playing with false eyelashes over the long bank holiday/Paddy’s day weekend… something tells me that’s going to screw up the curve…
