TS CHARM ROSE INTENSE lo
I love my Thomas Sabo charm bracelet, as you may remember from here and here, and I liked the first iteration of Charm Rose Eau de Parfum well enough, but I *love* Charm Rose Intense {€49.90.} My EDP tastes tend to run to the non-flowery end of the spectrum — your chypres, your musks, your vetivery-vibe — so this really appeals to me: whilst the first hit is pretty flowery, the base notes are amber, vanilla, patchouli and rosewood, and this dries down deep. It is tailor-made for autumn, in case you were looking for an A/W13 scent.

I have fewer mixed feelings about autumn this year. We did have a mainly proper summer — I wore all the clothes I hadn’t had the chance to wear over the last four years — and plus, my birrrrrthday is at the end of September {see above!} So: basically okay with the idea of autumn. At least I will smell intensely interesting as we transition into the new season.

ATTENTION Royal Baby Enthusiasts! Thomas Sabo Commemorative Charm

Thomas-SaboI may have scoffed at the all the mugs and plates that accompanied the British Royal Wedding, but I am allll about the babby — which I think is a girl, and in whose name I predict that Anne will figure largely — and looooooook at the cutest iddle charm in da worrrrrrld!

You may remember the potentially traumatic loss of my beloved Thomas Sabo charm bracelet, a saga which had a happy ending, and as such, know of my love for the charms of Mr S. I also found myself, yesterday, googling royal baby is it born yet?, which is not at all creppy, nope, not one bit.

We have had an arrival, at least in the form of this adorbz wee charm. And it is wee, so if you’ve got some crazy shame around being excited about this, you can be subtle in the demonstration on your interest.
ROYAL BABBY CHARM

Will the actual baby be as cute as this?!?! One expects so…

The Patron Saint of Bright & Beautyfull! is Saint Anthony

This is a Catholic thing, you mightn’t understand.

After I posted The Lament of My Thomas Sabo Charm Bracelet yesterday, I got up and went through the cupboards again. Since I had purged so much before I moved — and even during — I knew this was a pointless endeavour. Equally, though, I knew that I hadn’t thrown out a bag of stuff by mistake, or left anything behind in the old flat, or made the bracelet disappear with the power of my mind.

So I did what any right thinking person would do, and asked Saint Anthony:

Saint Anthony, Saint Anthony,
Please come around.
Something is lost and can’t be found.
Saint Anthony, where is my _____________???

He doesn’t seem to mind if you insert ‘effing, shagging, arse-ing’ before the name of the lost object, but I do try to watch my language.

Then, seriously, the thing that happens is, you get a thought in your mind that won’t go away. Like, you head right for that shoulder bag you haven’t used in ages, or you go to a drawer that you are positive you looked through thoroughly.

So when I found myself standing in front of one particular cupboard in my bedroom, I felt a surge of hope. I had been through the two file boxes that were behind that door, even though I was sure I wouldn’t have tried to wedge the little stripey jewellery box thing into one of them. But who knew, really? I was fairly insane from last Tuesday to this past Sunday.

Whatever, Saint Anthony, I thought, as I opened the door — and then I remembered! That Sketchers bag, the one I use when I go swimming! Maybe I put the stuff in there! Continue reading

This Was Meant to Be an Upbeat Mum’s Day Post

BUT IT IS NOT. So Thomas Sabo Charm Club have a gorgeous solution for Mother’s Day: a silver necklace featuring several mummy-friendly charms. I was going to take a photo of my very own charm bracelet, which was given to me by darling friends for my birthday a few years ago. I have added to it since, with loads of horsey charms, and an Eiffel tower, and shells, and a dolphin, and a dragon…

BUT I CAN’T FIND IT.

You know how when you’ve left your purse somewhere, but you keep looking through your bag anyway, taking everything out and putting it back in, compulsively, until there is no getting around the fact that your purse is gone?

I would like to turn this flat upside down and shake it until my gorgeous bracelet falls out. Waaaaaaaaaa!

I am just sick about this. Completely desolated. Plus! I had it in a really, really cute little stripey jewellery box, also a product of Mr T Sabo, also missing! The box contained other bits of glitter, including one of those Sabo bracelets that are made out of semi-precious stones. This one was turquoise, and oh, darn! It had my crown charm on it!

Adding insult to injury, my epilator is among the missing, so now I will be charmless and whiskery.

And I broke my power shower cord today.

The wheel of fortune can only be about to carry me upwards.

Yeah, so: typically lovely work from the Sabo crowd. The necklace is sold separately, of course, so you may want to club up with your sibs if you’ve got ’em. Take it from someone who knows, these charms are lovely and fun and everyone notices them.

I have nothing else to offer but this.

Best Mom Charm: €29; High Heel with Pearl Charm: €69. Available from Thomas Sabo counters Brown Thomas Cork, Clerys Dublin, House of Fraser Dundrum and independent jewellers nationwide.
